 Charles and Ray Eames designed this chair for the private residence of an art collector in Columbus, Indiana. For its construction, the design duo abandoned the idea of a shell seat, opting instead to stretch a fabric panel between two aluminum side panels, resulting in a firm yet flexible seat. The chair adapts to the contours of the body and is exceptionally comfortable, even without sophisticated upholstery.
