Pierre Paulin began designing this armchair in the 1950s and finished it in 1971. The "Pumpkin" collection includes several fixed and swivel armchairs as well as sofas. Paulin drew inspiration from the shape of a pumpkin for their design. This series was created for the private apartments of Claude and Georges Pompidou at the Élysée Palace.
